Christmas Is Coming, Should We Go Away ?

Written by InnocentCharmer. Posted in 2013

I know I will be shot for mentioning Christmas, but honestly this year is flying away with us, we are in September already and with the length of my to do lists I need to prioritize it a little now or else it will be Christmas Eve and I will crying/rocking in the corner.

Last year was supposed to be our last year of me dragging the kids to my Mom’s, but honestly I haven’t decided what to do instead, I don’t really want to cook with the kids still being so young, I want to enjoy them. Then there is a Pub lunch, it’s pricey and also not too suitable for 3 under 5, so I have come up with the possibly crazy idea of a cheap Christmas break away.

Do I hire a cottage somewhere ? Or maybe a house on the sea ?

Neither of those work, a cottage I would be in same predicament as staying at home, cooking etc. House by the Sea, way too cold for the 2 boys to enjoy. So then Mr Innocent Charmer said “What about Butlins?”

He is right we have spoken about it a few times this year, with seeing all the other bloggers heading off there, it has a mass amount of activities for all our kids, including Grayson, so why not ?

So I headed over to Butlins to see what they have for this year in the way of staying in holiday seasons ?

We can still have cool PJ's and Presents

Can you believe they will include a 5 course Christmas Dinner, tick. Family orientated so no worries about the kids screaming, tick. A present from Santa for the kids, tick. Panto, big tick (wanted to take Addy) and even some Arts and Crafts to keep her entertained. Plus no worries off airports, early morning departures and changing your money up.

Now am I going to brave enough to say no to seeing all the extended family and booking it. What do you think about going away with kids at Christmas am I crazy or genius ??? Let’s be honest my whole family deserve a nice Break Away.

If going away for christmas is what suits your family then do it. You, hubby and the kids are what truly matter, christmas should be fun and relaxing for everyone. I dont go away over christmas but I do a big christmas dinner on christmas eve and on christmas day we have precooked and frozen buffet food and leftovers from the dinner. It means we all have time together. Its what works for us. Butlins sounds like it provides everything u need for a relaxing break!!!
