Upcycling // Pinty Plus G Plan Table Makeover

Its been a few months since I shared becoming an ambassador for Pinty Plus. With the weather being dismal and Grayson needing so much care my projects all got put on hold but this month I shall be coming to you with two makeovers.

Pinty Plus is a Chalk Paint Spray and for all the chalk paint lovers out there once you try it you will never pick the brush up again.

After sharing Emily’s little G Plan table makeover I finally pulled mine from the back of the cupboard, I bought it a few years ago painted all white, my plan was similar to Emily’s I wanted to wax the top with painted legs but when we started to sand the top we realised the middle had been replaced with MDF, so no panic lets reverse the plan and go with a painted top and waxed legs.

G Plan Table

I literally love the Blue Indigo Pinty Plus colour, it is the perfect shade of blue. It has a denim tone and sprays so well, I could have got away with only one coat but as I knew the table would be high traffic and have dinosaurs playing on it I wanted to give the colour a fighting chance so went with two. Once it was dry (only took less than an hour) I sprayed with Pinty Plus Matt Varnish as I do not like to lose the look of the chalk paint.

As I was spraying I got carried away and continued onto the legs, the varnish gave them a deep wooden colour which I instantly knew was perfect, not only does it set off the Indigo Blue perfectly it also works well against my other G Plan pieces in the room.

I think you will agree it’s gorgeous and the total project took me an hour (even with sanding) and cost less than £25 including the table.

Pinty Pluser Makeover

The table has been under daily use for a couple of weeks now and no bruising or chipping, I just need to find some pretty coasters so I don’t get tea rings.

If you have any questions about the paint do let me know, or if you have tried some please share your projects with me, I would love to get a little inspiration post up for others, as well as my big project I have also been using the ends of my cans on some great little projects round the house which I will share soon.

Gorgeous! Love that blue a lot! X

Wow, you did this in an hour?? That’s amazing, well done! It looks brilliant. We actually have a g-plan foot stool thing but it looks really similar to this only it has a cover on. I might have to hack the cover off it and see if it’s got a good surface underneath, the cover is pretty grotty anyway.

  • I love G-plan – the lines are just so classic that they still look so good today with just a bit of an update. I love that blue against the dark wood of the legs – gorgeous! #bloggershomes
