Addison has a couple of Leapfrog items that her Popsy/Granny have bought her over the years and she loves them. Dedicated to her age of learning and hand size they hold her attention.
Deacon constantly asks to play “Addy’s special pad” but he just doesn’t get it, it is made for a couple of years older than him. So we knew that we wanted to get something specially for his age of learning so he could feel as special as Addison.
Kindly Leapfrog sent out one of their young learners preschool products, for him to feel grown up!
Featuring a strong and tough case that is made to last it has an easy-to-carry handle perfect for transporting when on the go. It works by reading the invisible dots on the pages of your chosen activity book to trigger and engage fun audio sounds to help your little-one complete the challenges as they work their way through the book. The easy-to-grip stylus means you can tap the page to activate the audio sounds introducing them to the world of numbers, letters and creating music.
- Team with a choice of LeapFrog activity books each with 30+ replayable challenges (sold separately)
- Using the stylus to bring the pages to life with talking, jokes and music

**At Smyths they also do a pink version**
We actually gave it to our niece to play with who is the same age as Deacon and invited my sister to have a play too as she is a Key Stage One Manager and Reception Teacher.
We all loved the design, not too heavy, easy carry handle so they can feel all grown up and take it with them to the grandparents for visits.
The stylus is actually a perfect size, I personally would have liked a little longer on the connecting lead as Deacon can be a little of a puller but it is not a game changer issue.
The book was easy to attach and the pages nice and clear.
My sisters thoughts – As a teacher I am always unsure whether some of these digital products actually help to teach, I found this to be excellent at first learning skills and I love that it comes with a Stylus as opposed to touch screen as it teaches them early writing skills when using a pen.
Ivy played happy with the one included book for over 1/2 hour, which anyone knows with a 3-year-old is a miracle.
She giggled and loved “learning my letters & numbers Aunty KarKar”.
I loved how durable it is, how there are over 30 book choices for their age range, many using a cute Dinosaur which appealed to Ivy but I know also Deacon will love.
Like Addison’s Leapfrog items it really does make learning fun. That was one of my main reasons in choosing a Lepafrog product as it should be fun, education is fun.
One of the biggest pros for me though is that the books are only £10, so he has a couple coming from family for Christmas and as he grows the next stage books for Reception level can also be used.
I think we shall be being asked by Addison for the older Primary School version for sure come Christmas morning and honestly after testing this we will have no problem in fullfilling her request.
