Who remembers when the only place you could really look for Interiors inspiration was magazines?
I would have scrapbooks full of images that I loved and when I had a house would decorate my rooms to mimic.
Then the internet, smartphones and social media took over and although I still enjoy
the oddquite a few magazines Instagram and my saved images folder is my new scrapbook.
I have my favourite Interiors accounts on Insta and share them on stories through #WomanCrushWednesday. But hashtags are the way I find new accounts, communities and inspiration.
So here are my current top 5 Interiors Hashtag faves…
For the past few months now run my Caro and Lins, they pick their favourites and share a mosaic on the blog linkup each week where there is a chance to win vouchers from Laura Ashley.
Rules – Link up any interiors pictures and share some love with other people who link up, grid picked for posts on Wednesday.
The Bright Home is as simple as it states. Linking up Interiors which are colourful and bright.
Not only a hashtag Fritha aka TigerLillyQuinn and Lottie aka LottieStorey also run a TheBrightHome Instagram account where they feature their homes, homes that have inspired and even some who linkup using the hashtag.
Rules – Link Up Interiors pictures that fulfil the Bright and Colourful name.
I only started joining in with Show Us Your Home this month but am loving it.
SUYHome is hosted by some of the UK’s best Interiors Bloggers (in my opinion).
Jen aka LoveChicLiving
Lins aka BooandMaddie
Amanda aka AmandaCotting
Jenny aka SeasonsInColour
..and they simply want you to Show Your Home.
Each month you are in with a chance of winning a prize by linking up and they have had big brands down to some amazing independents.
In the past couple of weeks, I have followed so many new accounts thanks to the hashtag.
Rules – Simply show us your home using the hashtag. To be in with a chance of winning you also have to follow all hosts and guest host that month.
#BloggersHomes is the creation of Pamela from LifeWithMuncher.
Initially, it started as a monthly blog post link up on the 1st of each month (which it still is) as its popularity grew Pamela took the hashtag to Instagram.
Each Sunday at 6pm Pamela shares her favourite pictures linked up from the week before and is always building the community.
Rules – Just link up any interiors picture with the hashtag #Bloggershomes and share the love. You do not have to be a blogger to join. You may even be featured on Pamela’s feed and stories on a Sunday evening.
#MyHouseThisMonth is a little different than all the other hashtags I have mentioned as Amy its creator actually gives a monthly prompt list for you to stick to.
Day one is always to share the list and then there are always fantastic prompts which have you really thinking about what corner of your home to share.
#MyHouseThisMonth started only last year but grew rapidly in popularity having over 112k of posts. So much so they hold monthly giveaways and have a dedicated Instagram.
It is a great place to feel motivated into sharing pictures but I warn you-you can lose hours scrolling through each day’s posts.
Rules – Always share the list on day 1 of the month, follow the prompts, if you wish to win the giveaway then you have to follow each month’s hosts and tag your pictures.
So they are my 5 favourite Interiors Instagram hashtags that I am currently being a part of. There are always much more to find and follow, its a minefield of losing hours of your day but also being very inspired.
I wanted to share one bonus hashtag which is not definitively Interiors but I certainly link many Interiors pictures to each month and that is #MyHappyViews from Lucy aka TiredFromWhitstable.
Basically, you link up any picture that is just that Your Happy View. It is a great hashtag for finding truly beautiful accounts of every style and Lucy is a love.
So happy linking and scrolling, if you have a hashtag you think I would love please do share away.
