Two years ago today I was sat in a hospital corridor outside HDU at Kings Hospital in London, somewhere in that same hospital my 6-year-old little boy was having brain surgery. The day had been perfect, we had family time at Ightham Mote, but only an hour after getting home our lives changed.
We were only given a 4% chance of survival when I signed the consent form, we hadn’t even got to see him to say our goodbyes, I was exhausted and kept getting angry at myself for falling asleep when my son needed me.
But against those 96% odds our Superhero fought, after 4 hours of life-saving surgery he returned to us with part of his skull missing and a massive scar, but within less than 48 hours he was sitting up in his bed watching and smiling at his favourite Mickey Mouse episodes being given the title of “A Miracle” by Doctors, something we already knew!
So when Disney Store approached us about their new Disney Party section of their website and asked if we would like to throw a Mickey Mouse party we jumped at the chance, as let’s be honest 2 years ago my son was reborn.
ONE STOP SHOP
The website is not simply a party supplies shop, it is a party planning tool from start to finish and all free of charge.
There are so many well-known Disney character party plans on the website including Mickey, Minnie, Toy Story and even TsumTsum (wish I had known back in May for Addison’s). There are several posts showcasing ideas for decorations, games, food and more.
It allows you to email invites, have a to-do list that sends you reminders and you can even book a phone call from a chosen character for the party boy/girl, amazing right?
They also have an abundance of party supplies and for no more than they would cost you anywhere else, but with these, you get Disney quality.
We enjoyed a wonderful Mickey Mouse Garden Tea Party, Grayson’s Mickey sat next to the guest of honour and we had balloons, bunting blowing in the breeze and even party masks to keep the kids smiling.
It really is the one stop shop for throwing a child’s Disney Birthday Party. Next January when we shall celebrate Grayson’s actual Birthday I shall be heading back to get all sorted for a Mickey Mouse extravaganza for my then 9-year-old.
If you have a birthday party looming do check out Disney Party and take away the anxiety/stress that comes from hosting that memorable day.
