WE ARE BACK – Corners of my Home has been missing since April and I am so sorry, life became a little all over the place but I am excited for so many ideas in my head.
A few weeks ago my brother kindly lent me his sofa for the night, he lives in London and I had not yet seen his flat that he shares with two friends. My brother and I share a massive common interest, Interior Design, especially of the vintage kind, so we spent over an hour looking at all his little corners, I was lusting after so many of his charity shop finds, London has amazing treasures.
I thought it would be rude for me not to share them with you, I have to apologise as it was late in the evening and I only had my phone so the picture quality is not excellent. He has promised me to take some photos of his bedroom (which is fantastic) so watch this space for a full post on that at a later date.
Lets start in his Kitchen, it’s an incredibly great size for London, has a Dining Area, wooden floors, large doors out to a balcony and these amazing floor to ceiling built-in shelves which I am lusting for….
They have used these so well displaying not only beautiful finds but also making use of their main storage, it is such a great collection of 3 different people’s styles but they marry well. My Brothers vintage BabyCham glasses look amazing along with the colours in the cookwares.
Above the hob they also make the most of storage hanging some Kitchen necessities, my favourite obviously being the Copper colander, which my brother loves but says the white one is better as it can go in the Dishwasher. One of his flatmates is Venezuelan so you can see some amazing pops of colourful cookwares which just brighten up the space, I especially am lusting over the Le Creuset Salt Pig.
The other main communal space is a Living Room with awesome high ceilings, original decorative coving, huge windows and the most amazing skirting.
Not only has it all those amazing original details it also has a fireplace which is a focal to the room, I am not sure if this is original but if not it is stunning, I love the tiles and how they have dressed it with cute stool, huge mirror and some great charity shop finds….
My Brothers fab collection on the fireplace, I was really hoping to sneak the Gin bottle into my suitcase, he personally is pleased with his large bottle at the back which he found one day when out searching for treasures.
Either side of the fireplace shelves have been built-in and my Brother like myself is one for OCD organisation, so he arranged all of their DVDs by colour order, it is very effective when you walk into the room and makes something as unattractive as DVDs look like art.
I also lusted after the heart wooden plaque at the top, it is a great piece for such a large room.
So I think you will agree they have done a great job of making their rented flat a home, which reflects 3 personalities beautifully.
