Corners Of My Home // Pocket String Shelf In The Kitchen

It’s Corners of my Home time, don’t forget to link up your Interiors posts, I love to feel inspired.

Back in 2014 I was treated to a String Shelf. I was beside myself with joy.

Still 3 years later it is one of my favourite pieces in my home, Industrial in design I love the simplicity and how even undressed it is art in its own right.

Pretty Everywhere

It doesn’t matter where you put a Pocket String in your home, it will work and have many uses. In our last home it was on the Living Room wall for pretty trinkets, but for the past 18 months it has been in our Kitchen storing baking goods and spices.

Time For Change

I bore easily and always am changing things around, this month I decided that my Pantone mugs could no longer be hidden in a Kitchen cupboard so with a move around they now sit beautifully on my Pocket String and I have a perfect little hot drinks area.

I am looking for suggestions though for new pots/canisters, I love my Tea pot but think the Sugar and Hot Chocolate need something new and we have already added new Pantone mugs so the Orla Kiely’s are back in the cupboard, so I have other mug storage ideas coming.

Moving things around has made me fall in love even more with my String and I really want some more for other rooms. Addison’s trinkets would look perfect on one for sure, in simple white as her items have some much colour.

I do love checking out the #PocketString hashtag on Instagram, there are so many pictures to inspire and have me thinking of new places for a String everyday.

Do you have a String Shelf, I would love to see pictures, tag me in them on Instagram @innocentcharmschats

Oh wow these are so lush! I LOVE the colour xx #HomeEtc

  • Those pantone mugs are gorgeous, such sweet shades, definitely deserve to be on show. I had no idea those shelves were called ‘pocket string’ I’ve learnt something new there! x

Ohh those look really cute! I have the Orla Kiely coffee jars too, trying to think what to use them for when I finally finish all the coffee

  • I love string shelving. It’s absolutely timeless. And super versatile. You could move it anywhere in your home, couldn’t you?! And your kitchen is so pretty. The colours are gorgeous.

  • This is so pretty and I love the colours!! But I have to ask as a novice, why are they called string shelves? 🙂 🙂 X #HomeEtc

  • They are so classic aren’t they? I absolutely love them; they just never seem to date!! My parent’s friends had them in the 70s — and that suited the era — but they look so modern now too; you’d definitely not call them retro. They’re fabulous! Xc #HomeEtc
