Days Out // bOing Festival

**For some reson I forgot to post this last year, so here is a little look at bOing Festival that we attended last year, fancy it, then come this weekend***

Canterbury where we live is a University town, with 2 big ones dominating the city. 2 weekends ago UKC held a weekend family festival bOing in their grounds for FREE.

I believe it is in its 2nd year and I wish we had known about it last year as it was a great day out for my little family.

We went for opening at 10am as we worried about the weather (which the sun shined all day) with some of our extended family and we didn’t leave till dinner time. Although the event is free as are alot of the shows, some are ticketed but the highest in cost was £8 for things like up to date movies.

It was such a relaxed day, large grass areas to just sit and enjoy things like sandpits, reading tents and hula hoops for the children. Addison got her face painted twice, once as a Giraffe and then a Dog, but at £2 you don’t really mind.

The food was good and very reasonable, there was plenty of little snacks to pick up for the kids too but you can also take a picnic.

Addison loved an inteactive show put on by Drama Students that had them searching the whole site for large stuffed birds, I enjoyed seeing all the local teenagers preform dance and signing routines/preformances, amazing to see such young talent.

Ashley loved Urban Playground Team the UKs Original Parkour & Dance Preformers.

There was so many things we didn’t get to do such as crafting workshops for kids and some of the stage preformances, 2016 date is already booked and I think we shall be heading both days so that we can enjoy more.

Boing 2015

I loved the relax pace, perfect type of day for a young family, I think next year we shall try and rope friends in too.

bOing can help you locate accomodation on their website, I think if you fancy visiting Canterbury for a few days away (cheking out the Cathedral, Zoos and more) then I would tie it in so you could come to bOing as I think it would be great fun for all.

Here is a litle video of what we got up to on the day.

Do you have local family festivals in your area like bOing ? Although I was not asked to write this post I thought I could not be selfish and keep the event to myself, remeber the date for your diaries 27/28th August 2016.
