One of the things I was excited about for Frame It Friday when I started the project was sharing people’s artwork/frames from their homes and over the next month I have some great homes to share and inspire you.
Our first one comes from Emily who you can find on Instagram as Mrs_Emily_Clark, she doesn’t actually blog, which is criminal as she loves to show off her home and upcycle and I think it would make great blog content. Emily and I actually went to school together for a while and she is a real sweetheart.
These shelves sit in Emily’s Living Room (an upcycle project) and she has photos framed of her boys, but in particular she wanted to share the painting on the top shelf which is of her and her eldest walking on the beach in Portugal and was done by our very good friend, Sally Edmonds.
Emily’s friend Sally also drew this picture of her Eldest son when he was younger and she went for a simple wooden frame and mount so the picture was the focus, she has not yet put this up in their new home as she is waiting for the one of her younger son to put with it.
A lady after my own heart she to has to have a picture wall, Emily says…
My photo wall in the dining room is a work in progress. I need to print some other photos for it but never seem to get around to it
That is the great thing about picture walls they can evolve, especially when you do not tie yourself down to frame colours or order, I love the extra banner and wooden art touches too, it adds so much interest.
Looking through to the Dining Room Emily has framed a famous Nikki McWilliams Copper Bourbon Biscuit print as she says she loves Copper and Biscuits so it was a win, she also made the awesome EAT letters herself to tie in.
Lastly we head to Emily’s eldest sons room where this great Typography print around Brothers hangs. It was sent as a gift and Emily just loves the words and how they relate to her sons.
Thanks so much to Emily for sharing her home with us, she actually sent me a few more images, so maybe she will be back again soon on the blog.
I am very much thinking I should have some Nikki McWilliams biscuit love in my new home once I move, I did not realise she did Copper, also I am off to check out Sally Edmonds as her art is just beautiful and I think I may need to commision her.
