Happiness – good fortune; pleasure; contentment; joy.
Having children brings so much happiness to our lives. Don’t get me wrong it can be hard too but even on a grey and dark day when you really just want to crawl back into bed with PMT they do something that makes you smile from ear to ear.
This is what happened to me a couple of days ago. It had been a long day at work, the weather was crap, the kids are poorly, Deacon has screamed non stop since I got home. I am in the kitchen feeding Grayson a snack and cooking dinner. I feel tight inside with stress.
Then all of a sudden from the Living Room I hear this little voice, I am stopped in my tracks. I quietly move to the door and for the next minute I can’t stop smiling.
Princess Sofia has come on the TV and Addison starts singing to it. She is getting words wrong, she is out of tune (only slightly) but her little voice is beautiful. She starts to sway in her seat as she sings, every other word louder as it is correct.
Then as she becomes even more mesmerised she jumps from her seat still singing and starts twirling.
It was priceless. I wish I had been able to pick up my phone and video but honestly I was stopped dead just smiling and a few tears. The innocence of a child. The pleasure in something so small. Pure magic.
