Hello Spring !

Today is officially the first day of Spring and Addison is beside herself with excitement.

We have been on countdown, she loves what Spring brings, baby animals, Blossom on the trees, pretty flowers, nicer weather, Easter and of course her Birthday!

Spring “season following winter,” From spring (v.); also see spring (n.3). The notion is of the “spring of the year,” when plants “spring up” (cf. spring of the leaf, 1530s).

I have to say Spring is my joint favourite season with Autumn, but I never thought at five Addison would be so into a season. She has spent time learning about it at home and school. She has drawn more Spring pictures than my walls can take and made many Spring junk models.

So imagine her excitement when her teacher set them a Spring Hunt checklist for homework. They were to go for a little walk in the garden or locally to find signs of Spring.

As we had no plans though we decided to head to the Woods and spot the signs as well as filling our lungs with fresh air whilst enjoying the peace.

It was great fun for all the kids and something we will be doing more often.

We loved it so much that I created our own little Spring Hunt checklist which you can print off here as I thought some of you may also enjoy it, simple free fun. I am thinking we shall head to a National Trust property to complete again.

If you do go off on your own little hunt do let me know, I would love to hear/see how you got on.

This quote is what our family feel as soon as Spring hits, time to be happy!

  • I love the look of the spring hunt checklist – what a brilliant idea for helping children spot things when out and about. Spring is definitely my favourite season. Addison looks like she had a wonderful time finding the things on her checklist 🙂 #countrykids

I love the checklist and what a great way to add extra fun into a walk in the woods. We love spring here too, even more so after 6 months of such a cold dark winter!! #countrykidsfun

I have a spring flower checklist that is very similar to your one on my education pages and I did it out every spring to complete here with the children on the farm. Spring is my favourite season, I love seeing the landscape come into colour after winter and of course the baby animals here on the farm. Looks like y our daughter is fast becoming a spring fan too, a great reason to get outdoors and spot the season unfolding around you. Thank you for popping over and sharing with me on #CountryKids

  • This looks right up our street 🙂 Lovely post #CountryKids

  • That looks so much fun. I am hoping Spring appears here soon. The checklist does look fab. Happy kiddies x
