Now we are not moving house again till next February I have decided every room needs an overhaul. To be honest once I knew we were leaving come the beginning of the year I just didn’t bother overly at home and with the warmer weather coming I think it greatly effects my Interiors mood. How about you ?
I am wanting nice clean, airy rooms, with pretty pastels, lamps, comfy cushions and soft rugs under foot.
Our Living Room is the one room we have not done anything with for the past 18 months since we moved in and it is top of the list for a makeover, so I thought I would give you a little idea of a perfect room to relax in now the room is full of Summer Sun.
A new sofa is top of our list and we are on the hunt, our Living Room was designed for a Corner Sofa, which I love, but I think I am swaying towards the idea of a chaise style so that I can put my feet up in the evenings. I would go with a very neutral plain colour like the one featured form FishPools.
For me it’s then all about textures and colour. I like to keep walls plain and add colour/pattern through accessories and cushions are a great way to do that, especially at this time of year.
As well as the cushions bringing in colour, I would also brighten the sofa with a couple of cozy blankets like this one from Zara Home.
You can not forget a table, we currently do not have one, but this Ercol is top of my list, the light tone woods are brilliant for brightening a room, with the shelf for extra sneaky storage I could house many a blanket or the odd magazine.
I would dress the table with a beautiful metal tray housing candles and an apothecary jar filled with treasures which could change with the seasons, maybe some stunning fake flower heads for Summer.
I think you will agree the mood board just makes you feel summery, well it does me and I am now so excited to get on with restyling our Living Area.
What about you ? Do you change your style for the Summer season ??
