Look No Further – Painted Ghost

Welcome to the 2nd company to be featured in our Look No Further segment of the blog, if you are wondering what this is all about head here.

Basic idea, I share companies that I have dealt with buying online, letting you know about their great products and services, these posts are completely non sponsored and just my opinions. So without further a do here is Painted Ghost.

I came across Tracy and Painted Ghost a couple of months back, when I was very lucky to win 3 of her dribble bibs through a giveaway on Childcare is Fun, when they arrived I was really pleased with not only the quality but the lovely bright fabric designs.

I started to chat to Tracy through Twitter, I came to find out that she also made her Bibbla’s (dribble bibs) in larger sizes for disabled children (going to be a need here in the future). I started having a look through Tracy’s website and was surprised by the amount of wonderful products she makes. Everything from Bibs, Comforts Blankets, Cutlery Rolls and more.

So once Addison’s new bright Red Stokke Xplory arrived I realised her little pink blankets just did not look nice or show off the Xplory very well, instead of going out to buy a new shop made blanket I thought to Tracy’s customizable Blankets. So after many emails back and forth and some great scouting for fabric by Tracy, Addison received her beautiful handmade personalised blanket. It’s a great patchwork bright coloured heart fabric, lined with a spring fresh green fleece, to finish it off Tracy has sewn green fleece letters spelling Addison’s name onto the blanket to make it extra special.

The blanket has been a huge success, not only cause it looks fabulous against her Red Stokke Xplory (I am sure you shall agree) but Addison has really taken to the Blanket, dragging it around with her at home, giving it cuddles, I think I shall be ordering a smaller indoor version.

So now I pass you over to Tracy to tell us a little more about Painted Ghost.

1.Who is Painted Ghost and what do you sell ?
Painted Ghost is a small business run by myself in Nottingham. I make and sell baby accessories such as Baby dribble bibs which I call Bibblas as well as multipurpose blankets, ribbon comfort blankets, and toddler cutlery rolls.

2.What made you start Painted Ghost ?

My son, who’s now two, was a terrible dribbler when he was teething, I had looked for dribble bibs online and wasn’t happy with the selection or how they were made, so as I had received a sewing machine for my birthday from my husband I decided to make my own. As I went to baby groups and started using twitter people asked me where I got them from and that’s how Painted Ghost started.

3. Is this a Hobby of Full Time Commitment ?

What started as a hobby has become almost full time. I can’t commit to it completely as I already have a day job, but one day I hope to go full time with the business.

4.Where can you buy Painted Ghost Products ?

You can purchase them online www.paintedghost.co.uk or from the Gift Gallery York on The Shambles.

5. Do you have any exciting news for the future ?

We’ve just launched Customised Bibblas which allow the customer to personalise bibblas, with colour of the Bibbla, name, and images.
I’m in the process of developing a range of t-shirts for newborn and beyond. I’m hoping to launch the range very soon!

6. Is there anything else you would like us to know about Painted Ghost ?

All of the products I make are 100% cotton, the Bibblas are unique, and took a while to develop. My son has eczema and the Bibblas were the best thing for him whilst he was dribbling.
Everything on the website has been made and designed by me!
