Just like that 2017 has ended. I am sure like many of you, you can not believe how quickly it passed.
Every year I make a promise to myself to take more family photos, every year I am a little hard on myself that I haven’t but in 2017 I managed 6 monthly shots and I am happy about that as it is never easy.
So let’s take a little look back at the 5 months before I share December…
I started with February, January is always a hard month as so busy and cold but I loved this quick shot in Feb of us all bundled on the little sofa in our snug. This picture of us all in our PJs laughing hard is still a fave of mine, it shows our family as we really are.
In April the weather was dry and we used our new National Trust membership to visit Ightam Mote. I shared how we get the kids to take pictures by agreeing to a funny faces shot.
August saw a picture on a very hot day after we decided at the last minute to go for a crazily long walk around a nature reserve. We laughed, looked at wildlife but poor Grayson had a seizure, but it was an adventure all the same.
In September we headed with extended family to another National Trust gardens that we hadn’t visited in 5 years. We tried something different with our photos, it didn’t really go to plan but we had fun trying.
November saw us on a woodland walk, taking a photo back where my favourite ever photos of us all was taken. It is probably my second fave as we just all look content and had a nice morning.
We hadn’t planned to take a family photo, it was spur of the moment on my phone. It’s Boxing Day morning and we had met my family to go lay some flowers for my Nana, we are all wrapped up as that sun in our eyes was not very warm.
But I love it, I love that we had a great family Christmas, the five of us, relaxed and happy. I love that they chose their little outfits that day and were excited about a second day of celebrations. I love that it is us!
Here is to more relaxed family photos in 2018 as they are always my favourite.
