Thomas is well-loved in our home, I have spoken of the Take n Play toys and the kids fondness of them before, to be honest any Thomas Toy that comes in the house is usually met with excited screams, even more so since we went to watch the premiere of Thomas Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure in London.
This Thomas & friends Motorized Rail Set has been inspired on a scene from the film and Addison recognised it straight away.
The set comes in a large box and has to be simply connected together, the instructions were really simple and easy to follow, it takes less than 10 minutes to build, but warning once built it is HUGE, measuring approx. 66L X 13W X 38H cm. For this reason I am super pleased it takes so little time to build.
But once built it brings serious fun and excitement to little (and if honest big) faces. Daredevil Thomas climbs the incline (all on his own as his is motorized) to the ship’s mast and then quicker than you can blink he turns upside down into a 360° spiral and great speed.
In Addison’s words “Wow Thomas look at you go, it’s just like in the film Mummy”.
Deacon just kept chanting Thomas, Thomas and then Weeeee as he goes down.
It has brought some serious fun on rainy days these past weeks, they love it when we set it up and they watch it go round and round. I will say I think it is definitely more suited to the guided 3+ as Deacon wanted to keep playing with the motorized Thomas as he does his little Take N Play ones, where as Addison at 4 loves to watch it over and over as I did Hornby Trains as a child.
The toy train set is currently £39.99 at Smyths and if you spend £40 there at the moment you get the Thomas & Friends DVD Box set for free.
Thomas & Friends Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure is now available in shops, it is on Addison and Deacon’s list to Santa already as they loved it first time round. As will all Thomas fans.
