The Ordinary Moment – #1

Have you ever met someone who just inspires you with everything they are, not just the amazing things but their everyday’s, well Katie of Mummy, Daddy and Me Makes 3 is one of those people.Since the 1st time I came across Katie’s blog I have been in awe, I inspire to be like Katie, I have followed her family’s life for some time now and have been fortunate enough to spend time with her and her girls. Just got to meet the awesome Mr E now.

As I said Katie’s blog always inspires me for my own, so I was super excited when she started a new linky which gives me a great prompt.

It’s called The Ordinary Moments

‘The simple things in life are often the sweetest. While the fancy days out, weekends away or holidays are fun, it’s the ordinary moments I will miss when my children are all grown up. The snuggling in bed reading a story. The giggles as they run around my overgrown garden with the grass that desperately needs a cut. Even the naughty ones. The ones we all have. Just a photo from your week. The simple. The exciting. The imperfect. The Ordinary Moments.’

This is so good for my house as most of our pictures are taken when we are in our Jammies, the house is a mess and I am bare-faced, I constantly stop myself from sharing pictures which are precious as I don’t feel they are perfect enough.

Take this weeks picture, it was taken yesterday at Lollibop, it was the happiest Addison was all day and it had nothing to do with any of the fancy things that Lollibop had put on, it could have been taken in our background, because this sheer happiness smile is from playing with her Daddy, from having his full attention, from him tickling her and throwing her so high in the air se had that scared and sheer joy feeling in her tummy.

No she doesn’t look nice and tidy, in fact her hair had fallen out for the 100th time that day, she is squinting as she smiles and Daddy moved out of shot just at that moment, but the sheer happiness in her face is what having children is all about.

Thank you Katie xx

This is beautiful Kara, and I am so glad you joined in. I thought about you when I was writing it actually as you share such lovely ordinary moments on instagram. Addison is turning out to be a beautiful little lady. I love the pure innocence on her face. And I love Ash’s tattoo, I have never noticed that before in the couple of times I have met him. x

PS thank you for the lovely things you said about me, you made me get tears in my eyes! x

I love this photo Kara. It’s such a beautiful “in the moment” shot, which is exactly how I think we should see toddlers. I love that even though Ash is mostly out of the shot, you can still tell he’s got a huge smile on his face. So so lovely.
