Thomas The Tank Engine celebrated his 70th Birthday this year, we loved celebrating as Addison and Deacon are HUGE fans. So imagine
my excitement, Addison’s excitement when Mattel kindly invited us to Leicester Square for the premiere of the new Thomas The Tank Engine movie.
The 60-minute movie Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure sees Thomas and his friends embark on a spectacular new adventure scouring the Island of Sodor for lost treasure. Introducing a host of new characters voiced by a stellar line up of the UK’s biggest stars including Oscar winning actor Eddie Redmayne, Sir John Hurt, Jamie Campbell Bower and Olivia Coleman, the new movie is set to be Thomas’s most exciting adventure yet.
When we arrived Addison was blown away to see a HUGE Thomas waiting for her along with the promised Fat Controller on the Blue Carpet, she stood and sang along to The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra who played her beloved Thomas Theme Tune which she knows word for word (as do I now).
We were met by a wonderful pre party, with an array of amazing food, including Thomas Cakes which was of course on Addison’s must have list.
We enjoyed playing with many Fisher Price Thomas toys, you may know we are already massive fans of the Take’n’Plays and have 4 sets, but she was most excited by the battery operated trains, yep that’s now on the list for her pocket-money.
We also managed to have our photo taken with Thomas and Addison even had a sword fight with a lady Pirate who wants her to sail to China with her in 2 weeks.
After so much excitement I was unsure how Addy would do in the Cinema, this was her first trip and although she watches her Thomas films over and over at home being in a cinema is very different, but she loved it, excitedly, screaming and laughing aloud to points in the film, getting a little upset when the Fat Controller tells Thomas off, but I don’t want to give too much away as honestly it is a great film.
So do head to cinemas now to watch the new Thomas The Tank Engine, Sodor’s Legend Of The Lost Treasure, it is a great modern film of a true classic and as Addison says in the VLOG below the best bit is when they are all best friends again.
