Before this Autumn/Winter Animal Print has been a little of a mixed bag, not always made into pieces that fit well or feel a bit “Bett Lynch”. Myself I have only worn it twice in my life before now as accessories.
But wow has that changed! No matter your size, age, body shape there is plenty of Animal Print in the shops.
What more it is definitely the new Neutral. But why?
- You can wear it in any way
- Worn by any age
- Can be teamed with any colour
- Suits all skin tones
- Can be smart or casual
- Dressed for Day or Night
And that’s what I want to show you today with the dress I am loving from Evans.
I bought it a few weeks ago after doing an Insta Stories try on, it was the one dress that had 100% yes answers and the second I tried it on I started thinking of ways to style it, today I am going to share the three ways I have worn it so far…
Daytime Casual As A Dress
I wore the dress for the first time to The Handmade Fair and it was perfect, it doesn’t wrinkle, the right weight to hang well and a nice Midi length for everyday wear. I teamed it with Vans Old Skools, a brown leather bag and a handmade necklace from Lucie-Ellen.
Make up wise I went for a smokey eye and my favourite Orange lip from The Body Shop.
As I said above Animal Print is perfect for Day and Night time, this dress is so easy to wear in the evening.
To give a more edgy look I put my hair into a quiff, put on some sandal heels from Clarks (comfy and stylish) and added some cheap tassel earrings from Primark.
I wanted to show how you can pick any colour Lip to wear, this time a Hot Pink from Chanel. I would have added a pink clutch to coordinate but had to settle with this metallic Rose Gold one.
Keeping it simple in my opinion stops the Animal Print looking tacky and more classic.
Daytime Outfit Alternative
I think we all forget to look outside the box when it comes to fashion, yes by definition this is a dress but undoing the buttons turned it into a Kimono, perfect for Autumn giving an additional layer to a simple Black outfit.
You could do the same in the evening with Black Skinnies and Lace Cami or with a Little Black Dress.
I think you can see why this dress is by far my best purchase this season so far. It is so versatile and proves that Animal Print is the new Neutral and what more I feel great in it!! I have loved teaming it with an Orange, Pink and Nude lip so far and think come winter it will be just as good with Plum and a Deep Red.
