There is nothing I love more for the parties, play dates and family dinners than our Dining Table. It is HUGE, it can sit comfortably 10/12 people when fully extended, not only that it is totally wipe proof when the kids paint, play play doh or craft.
But I miss the look and feel of real wood, for the past 4 years previous to this we had the most beautiful 1950’s wooden table. Wood just brings such a warmth and character to a room.
The problem is our Kitchen/Diner/Snug is a cold looking room, with its very pale Grey walls, light grey stone floor and grey units. It is an old garage converted in a 3-storey town house, so doesn’t have, much natural light either.
It is crying out for texture and warmth and I know a large wooden family sized table would offer that.
As you can see it would work perfectly with the mismatched chairs feel I love, I think you can see from this picture it really warms the room.
You can see even more inspiration over on my Pinterest board as I start to make plans I love to pin.
But what the table must offer is the ability to be big enough for all occasions like our current table does and I think the oak range from Quercus Living does just that.
I love how the Constance Oak table extends with ease similar to our current table, this way we have the beauty of oak wood and still the practicality (with ease I may add) of being able to seat all our guests or do those craft projects the kids love. What more let’s be honest Oak only looks better with kids being kids, right?
What are your thoughts, do you think a wooden table will look better ? Bring back some warmth that I am looking for?
