Spring has finally sprung this week and I for one could not be more pleased. It’s my favourite season for so many reasons, blossom on the trees, flowers coming up, nicer weather and sandals.
But I can not afford to change my whole wardrobe each season, it’s just too costly, so Simply Be asked if I could share a key trend that I style throughout the seasons.
I am a huge fan of a floral and the great thing about dark florals is they work well with boots or a pretty sandal and Simply Be has so much choice.
When picking dark floral clothing you want to wear all year then make sure there is some bright colour in the pattern that you can pick up with accessories with the warmer seasons so you still feel summary.
I felt this Black and Yellow Floral Tea Dress was perfect. Not only was it black always a great staple but with its vibrant yellow primroses it feels bright for the warmer months.
The dress is only £29 and has beautiful details for such a low-end price, like on trend tortoiseshell buttons and a square neck line.
The dress sits just on the knee which makes it ideal for either daytime wear or being dressed with heels in the evening, I think you could even team it with skinny jeans if you fancied and where it like a tunic.
The high waist lends itself to teaming with a belt, I used a black one I had previously bought from Simply Be.
So how to style it for the changing seasons?
As I said above it would be perfect to wear with skinny jeans under and a jacket, or even leggings and some knee-high boots.
I have actually worn it with a new staple for my wardrobe, which Simply Be sent, a faux leather biker jacket. I love this look as I think biker jackets with florals are just give the outfit an edgy feel. I also picked up on the button detail with some cheap tortoiseshell hoops and brown boots, but I think this would also look awesome with DM’s.
Simply Be also offer a varied selection of wide fit shoes and kindly sent me these wood effect heel black sandals which are incredibly comfy and look prefect with the dress.
Teaming with some rattan earrings and straw bag it feels like the perfect Spring picnic outfit out with the family, but by simply changing my bag to a clutch, probably a nice emerald-green one to pick up the leaves and some dark earrings and you have Spring pub date night outfit.
I think you will all agree this dress is the perfect staple for any wardrobe, the outfit possibilities are endless and I have already worn it on several occasions.
I have my eye on this other bargain dark floral dress at Simply Be too as I know just like the one above I could style it all year round.
Do you wear Dark Floral all year? I would love to hear how you style them.
