One of my favourite things about Christmas is decorating, as someone who is ever-changing her home a holiday gives me another excuse to do just that!
But the thing about Festive Styling is you do not want it to be pricey, as let’s be honest it is once a year, but you also don’t want it to look tacky (well unless that is the style you are trying to achieve).
So when Poundland contacted me and challenged me to style a Christmas Tree I must say at first I was a little unsure. Don’t get me wrong I love Poundland, I head there once a fortnight for cakes, crisps, craft items for the kids and their disposable tablecloths are perfect for any messy playtimes, but Interior decoration ???
When their lookbook arrived I was eating my words, the styling was incredible, the choices, so pretty. But would my local store have all these items ??
They did! An abundance of them, as I shopped last Saturday morning my basket started to become seriously overloaded. When I arrived home 2 very large shopping bags later I was ready to make our tree look pretty.
Our Kitchen/Snug is on the ground floor, our main tree is in our Living Area but last year we bought this beautiful twig tree for downstairs but never had any decs to adorn it, I wanted it to look a little different from the traditional Red/Green/Gold colours so settled on Whites and Silvers.
Can you believe everything on the tree is from Poundland ? My favourite has to be the Vintagesque Glass Baubles, the larger ones £1 a piece (BARGAIN) and the little ones 9 for £1!!!
I also added some jingle bells as I love nothing more than the sound of them as the tree is knocked, the set came with 9, the red are now jingling on our main tree.
What you must do when Festive Styling is look to other items. I am all for using products differently than their intended use, for example the Berry Present Toppers, I tied some on the branches of the tree to give a finished off look, with 6 for £1 there is still some left for presents under the tree.
I couldn’t stop at just the tree though, how could you when they had an amazing selection of Festive cushions for £1 each! I mean insane value, they just finish off the Kitchen area, which is nice for when we have visitors and what more each of the kids has picked a favourite to cuddle before bedtime.
Poundland really does have everything you need to make your home Festive, you could decorate a whole room for less than £50. From little battery operated lights, wooden Noel letters, to hanging decs (featured below), our Kitchen now feels as Addison said “Just like Christmas”.
But it doesn’t stop there, each of the bloggers working on the campaign shows you how to style another part of Christmas, all with items from Poundland….
