Look No Further – Annie and Jean

It’s been a while since I featured a Look No Further company on the blog, but I return with an absolutely fantastic company. If you want to know what Look No Further is about head here 1st.

Annie and Jean is owned by Heidi, I started talking to Heidi over a year ago now on Twitter, I couldn’t tell you how but probably through other Mummy Bloggers. I was lucky enough to meet Heidi in person at Cybher last year and she is even more lovely in person.

So when she by accident tweeted me from her new company I started questioning what you up to ? She shared with me some of her new brooches and I was sold straight away.

Both Addison and I wear brooches and hair clips daily, we love to accessorize, so I knew I had to own an Annie and Jean original.

Heidi set about making me 2 custom pieces, her service is fantastic, I gave her some ideas as to what I required and she made sure she sourced the most beautiful ribbons etc for my need.

She made me 2 gorgeous Hello Kitty Brooches, one large, one small, she took the time to check I was happy with them before she even asked me for payment. They were even more beautiful when I received them in person than the pictures and Addison looks gorgeous in hers.

I have since sent a list of more custom orders I would like to Heidi and I am excited to see what she comes up with.

So now I turn you over to Heidi of Annie and Jean to tell you more about her company.

1.Who is Annie and Jean and what do you sell ?
I’m Heidi and ‘Annie and Jean’ is my new venture. I sell handmade brooches/corsages and hairclips, predominantly made with ribbons and buttons.
2.What made you start Annie & Jean ?
In the run up to the Jubilee celebrations I wanted an appropriate accessory to wear to events but really struggled to find something a little different from the norm. I finally found a brooch on etsy.com and then thought about making my own brooches for myself and my daughter. After getting compliments on my handiwork, which then lead to some orders, I decided to turn it into a business in December 2012.

3. Is this a Hobby or Full Time Commitment ?
It’s a little bit more than a hobby but not yet a full-time commitment. It has taken off really well in the last few weeks so it’s beginning to take up more of my time but I can still fit it in with my three children, which is ideal, especially as my youngest currently only goes to nursery one day a week.

4.Where can you buy Annie & Jean Products ?
By messaging me on my facebook page , contacting me on twitter @annieandjean or emailing me at annieandjean@hotmail.co.uk

5. Do you have any exciting news for the future ?
I am looking at making other products and hope to attend some craft fairs locally to get the word out about Annie and Jean.

6. Is there anything else you would like us to know about Annie & Jean ?
Annie & Jean is named after my late Nanna and her mother. My Nanna was inspirational and her values in life, which she undoubtedly got from her mother Annie, will always stay with me. They were both admirable women and I wanted to honour them by using their names.

Thanks Heidi, so do head over and like her Facebook Page so you can keep up to date with her wonderful items.
