Organisation – something everyone needs to do, but when there are 5 of you and one has so many hospital visits, organisation is key!
What does anyone do when they decide they need to sort their life out ?

Lets be honest it is full of wonderful ideas, some cost the earth, some just above your DIY skills but some are achievable.
So with a big board of pins, it was time to put some into our home.
A Menu Planner/Shopping Board
Being out to work most of the week Ashley does try to help and prepare bits for Dinner, or heads to the Supermarket when we need emergency items, but his biggest hang up was that everything was always in my head.
We did use to have a big glass noticeboard a couple of moves back, it always worked well as we could write when things ran out, so I knew I wanted the same idea but I wanted it to be magnetic too so I could put those coupons and recipe ideas somewhere safe.
Then I heard about Pinty Plus Blackboard Spray Paint
Oh my prayers were answered, I could create a magnetic blackboard.
I had this old frame sitting in storage, my Mom bought it for me years ago and I had never done much with it, I removed the board and had my workshop cut me a piece of metal to fit.
Now I know not everyone has a workshop on hand, but it turns out you can buy Ali sheet metal for under £10 from places like Screwfix in many sizes.
Onto the spraying…
Pinty Plus sent me 2 products I had never used before, the Blackboard Spray and then Evolution Gloss Spray paint in Red Lilac (funny name choice as purple).
An Extra-quick drying FLEXIBLE acrylic paint. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It provides an excellent protection with a smooth uniform finish. It adheres perfectly on any kind of surface, including: wood, metal, stone, paper, cardboard and some plastics.
I did not think I could a spray paint more than Pinty Plus Chalk Spray but the Evolution is my new favourite. It dries incredibly quick, covers in one coat (maybe a second light dusting), doesn’t seem to chip and can be used on any surface without ANY prep.
What more it comes in tons of finishes, colour choices and even metallic.
So how to make, well simply I sprayed the frame (outside), left to dry for an hour, meanwhile using the new Blackboard Paint I sprayed the metal sheet, this too dries very quickly and goes on well. I used a couple of coats as I wanted it to be a nice thick layer, but I have loads left in the can.
Then it was a case of simply fitting the metal inside the frame, we use some little pins and heavy-duty tape then the Mr hung it on the wall.
I bought some Neon Chalk Pens from Amazon which work really well but honestly they are just a little too bright and not chalky enough looking for me but you get the basic idea.
Has it made us more Organised ??
The answer is yes, every time I run something out it goes straight up there and before either of us head out shopping we write them down or take a picture on our phone. It has also allowed me to use coupons I would usually loose around the Kitchen.
Final Thoughts
This was incredibly easy to make and would cost less than £25, even less if you have other paint around the house, the possibilities are endless too, you could use any frame, or even make one.
I am really impressed with both paints, the Blackboard Paint can even be used on fabric. I can not wait to use more of the Evolution paints though, I can see it being great to spruce up some bits for the garden.
I would love to see if you use this Blackboard Paint anywhere in your home.
