>Good Afternoon, have you all had a great weekend, I have been really busy with fairs all weekend, today’s was an absolute disaster but more about that in post tomorrow.
Today is all about saving the planet, lol, well not really just a great excuse for me to buy a new bag.
On Friday I had a great parcel turn up of the shopper below I had bought through Etsy, I love the idea of a shopper instead of loads of plastic bags when I am shopping. I bought this on Etsy last week and was surprised to realise that once I had bought it was coming from here in the UK.
It was beautifully packaged and well made and so Kara with its retro print.
To say thanks to the dear Emma of Sugarcane I did one of my small interviews with her to share with all my number 1 blog pals, so here it is.
1.Who is Sugar Cane, what do you sell on Etsy?
Sugar Cane is me Emma, 35 living in historical York. I’ve been selling handmade bags & purses on Etsy for about 2 & half years.
2. Is this a hobby or full time commitment?
I guess you could call it a full time hobby. I’m very lucky to have time to spend on being creative and learning new sewing skills everyday.
3. What made you start selling on Etsy and how did you learn your craft?
It all started for me with the discovery of craftster.org, where I found a world of craft & talented people ready to share their knowledge. I love this website it is where I learnt the skills needed to make handbags, and encouraged me to take up other crafts such as crochet & embroidery. I also found Etsy through Craftster too.
I’ve always made things for friends & family, but you can only give them so many handcrafted items. So Etsy is my creative outlet, it gives me a reason to be continuously creative and supports my addiction to fabric & handbags.
4. Do you do commission pieces?
Sugar Cane is named after the Marilyn Monroe character in one of my favourite films “Some Like it Hot”. My bike is called Josephine (Tony Curtis) & our piano is called Daphne (Jack Lemmon), well nobody is perfect!
6. Where are your items available?
So go check out Emma’s bags they are so reasonably priced and I certainly vouch for great quality.
Love to all and I shall be back tomorrow with piccy’s of new stall and other antics.
