Coming from small Kentish Villages a proper pub lunch with pickle is the norm here. My husband always jokes I am a Country Bumpkin and I reply why of course.
A pickle I had never tried though was English Provender. They kindly sent me out 4 jars to make up some sandwiches and I am seriously won over, so is the Hubby.
We went simple as I like some nice thick cut ham with a pickle, basically a Ploughmans in a Sandwich.
The Hubby tried to Beetroot Pickle and loved it, he said it has a lovely sweet taste. He teamed his with Ham, Salad and some Applewood Smoked Cheese all on freshly baked bread of course.
I went for trying the Finely Chopped traditional pickle which is AMAZING, I sometimes find Pickle a little chunky, especially in a sandwich so this is perfect and the taste is smooth.
Like the hubby I teamed it with ham, salad and a lovely Mozerella cheese, I love a smooth cheese.
To be honest I do not think these 4 jars will last long, we already have family coming next week to test them out for a pre-Christmas lunch as they saw the pictures and requested to try.
What would you put in your perfect Pickle Sandwich ???
