Supermarkets are one of my favourite shops, seriously, it isn’t like years ago where it was a chore to do the food shop (although I like to food shop) it is now a total shopping experience, with everything from clothes, beauty products, electricals and even homewares, I am sure you could buy everything you needed in a supermarket now if you wanted.
What is excellent is they are not scrimping on style and quality, I have mentioned many a fashion item I have bought from a Supermarket, 2 of my favourite pair of trousers these past months are supermarket purchases, my bright patterned bargain trousers I wore to Britmums were only £10 from Asda, how can you complain.
So imagine my excitement when Asda asked me to come and choose some Home-wares from their George site, my 1st problem was what to choose, I mean they have so so much that I wanted, my list was endless and the prices amazing.
I decided to go with new Kitchen bits and Dinnerware as we had very little (I am always breaking bits) and were having a week of dinner parties and BBQ’s so I knew they would be put to good use.
I like mix and match china, so I decided on 2 Dinnerware sets, the most expensive one I picked was £18 for a 12 piece set, the other was only £10, what seriously low prices. I know you could be worried about the quality for that price but don’t be, I was surprised at how thick and lovely the Dinnerware was, as good as some pieces I have that cost more than double.
I loved that they offered great oven to table ware in several colours, I like to cook and go straight to table but pieces like this can usually be pricey, I received 3 pieces, including an awesome casserole dish for under £15 for all 3.
All items on the table other than tall hi ball are from George at Asda
The have been used time after time and washed in the dishwasher for the past 5 weeks and they are as perfect as the day they arrived.
What is great is as well as offering simple, classic pieces, George has also produced some funky on trend items, still for great prices, I also received these cute little tumblers, 4 in each set for £2.50 with Flamingo’s and Pineapples, they have been really loved by guests, as they add a real fun element to the table. They are not painfully thin either like some glassware, I am not frightened to hold them tight for fear of cracking and like the Dinnerwares, they have gone through the dishwasher daily and came out perfect.
I can honestly say there is nothing I have not been HUGELY impressed with, I actually bought another heart chopping board as I loved it so much.I have picked out a few of my favourite homewares bits on the site at the moment, that may sneak into my trolley whilst I stock up on Nappies and food.
So if you are wanting some new homeware bargains and need some milk n bread then head off to Asda and watch your trolley fill up. I don’t think you will be disappointed, but be warned if you have kids their clothes selections at the moment are too good to pass up.
